Robot mowers, Zoox's robotaxi and a $900 million shipyard welding deal filled out the rest.
The robot “eye-brain-hand” supplier — 3D vision, AI brains and dexterous hands deployed in more than 29,000 units for customers including CATL, BYD and Foxconn — began trading in Hong Kong on 1 September after pricing its IPO at HK$101.70, the top of the range, for a market value of about HK$12.7 billion, according to the company. Reuters reported the offering drew nine cornerstone investors led by Baillie Gifford and could raise up to HK$2.7 billion.
The five biggest humanoid makers by shipments – AgiBot, Unitree, Galbot, UBTECH and Leju – are all Chinese and took 86% of the roughly 22,000 units shipped in the first half, according to Counterpoint figures cited by TechCrunch. FCC curbs and fresh tariffs may wall off the American market, the piece argues, but they don't touch China's cost and scale advantage – the likely outcome is fragmented regional markets, not a clean split.
UBTECH's interim filing shows first-half revenue of RMB1,269.1 million, up 104.2% year on year, with full-size humanoid robot products and services surging 1,445% to RMB590.3 million on 921 units sold. Losses narrowed 23% on a 44.7% gross margin, and the company says it is working toward an annual production target of 10,000 units.

XPeng's robotics business closed a first external round of more than $900 million led by IDG Capital, with Alibaba and Tencent among the strategic backers, at a post-money valuation above $6.3 billion — the largest single private financing in China's embodied AI sector, according to XPeng. The company expects its IRON humanoid to enter mass production by the end of 2026, with deliveries in China and overseas markets starting in 2027.
At Beijing's World Humanoid Robot Games, X-Humanoid's Tiangong Ultra clocked 9.39 seconds to win a 100-metre heat, with Honor's Lightning timed at 9.47 — both under Usain Bolt's 9.58-second human mark, according to the games. humanoid.guide notes these are heat results, not ratified athletics records.

The traditional IPO is no longer the presumptive route to public markets for robotics companies, two Mintz attorneys argue in The Robot Report — pointing to Agility Robotics' pending $2.5 billion SPAC merger with Churchill Capital and Serve Robotics' reverse merger as examples of the alternatives.
LG signed a memorandum of understanding with NVIDIA and says it will unveil a bipedal humanoid built on Isaac GR00T, Jetson Thor and the Halos safety stack in the first quarter of 2027, drawing actuators, sensors and batteries from LG Electronics, LG Innotek and LG Energy Solution. The pact also covers an NVIDIA-powered AI factory in Cheonan slated to reach 80 MW by the first half of 2028, according to LG.

The STAR Market debut would make Unitree mainland China's first listed humanoid robot maker, after 2025 revenue more than quadrupled to 1.7 billion yuan.

Security hawks hail the FCC's block on new foreign humanoids as a defining technology-security move, while analysts warn it could slow US physical-AI innovation and may even catch Canadian and European robots, according to experts canvassed by The Robot Report. China has shipped 80–90% of the world's humanoids to date, per IFR figures cited in the piece.
The FCC is barring imports of new models of Chinese humanoid and quadruped robots, along with grid-connecting power inverters, to shield the US AI buildout from disruption, data theft and cyberattacks, according to a Reuters exclusive.
