China's patent office published a BYD design patent on 9 October for an "Embodied AI Robot", showing a black-and-white humanoid with a rounded, screenless head that resembles the Xiao Di robot an executive has previewed. humanoid.guide notes that a published design is no proof of performance or production readiness, and BYD has not given a timeline, price or volume.
Prasad, formerly head scientist for Alexa and AGI at Amazon, takes over on 7 October, ending an interim period that began when Robert Playter stepped down in February. Boston Dynamics says he will speed its push to commercialize industrial robots and physical AI.
San Francisco- and Paris-based Flourish has unveiled Flourish One, a six-wheeled, two-armed home robot run on a Raspberry Pi and priced at $3,555, with a first batch of 50 units expected to ship before Christmas, The Robot Report reports. Founder Antoine Marcel says owners will be able to teach it new chores such as tidying up and taking out the trash in under 30 minutes through a smartphone app.
Faraday Future has signed a non-binding term sheet to fold its robotics business into Nasdaq-listed AIxCrypto, renamed FF EAI Robotics Ecosystem (ticker FFR), in an all-stock deal valuing the unit at about $200 million, according to the company. FF says the business, which sells humanoid and other robots, had shipped 552 units cumulatively as of August and targets its first robot off a U.S. production line in the first quarter of 2027.

The project also took delivery of the 20,000th robot off AGIBOT's production line, according to the company.
China accounted for 60.8% of humanoid robot patent filings across the world's five major patent offices in the first half of 2026, up from 51.8% in 2024, while the US share slipped to 21.8% and South Korea's to 4.6%, according to figures from South Korean lawmaker Lee Jeong-heon's office reported by The Korea Herald. The office cautions that recent counts are provisional, since patent applications are normally published only after an 18-month delay.
Corvallis startup HIRO Industries, founded by Lex Roller and Ethan Marreel, has listed its Origin prototype on humanoid.guide at $55,000 — a 160 cm, fixed-base, two-armed robot with claw grippers and three RGB-D cameras, built for repetitive goods handling and sorting at shared workstations. It skips legs by design and is available by inquiry, according to the listing.
A wheeled robot rendering slipped into the Digit 5 launch video, and CEO Jonathan Hurst has now confirmed to The Robot Report that Agility Robotics is exploring a range of form factors, wheels included, to reach more environments sooner. He called the effort just starting and said it is too early to share plans, while maintaining that legs will fit an ever-broader set of jobs.
Feather has closed a $7.6 million pre-seed round led by Gradient Ventures to build a modular, wheeled humanoid that developers can program and run third-party AI models on, from providers such as Nvidia, Skild and Physical Intelligence. The year-old startup says it has passed $1 million in revenue with robots working as restaurant cooks and lab cleaners, and lists the machine at $29,990, according to TechCrunch and an investor filing from SEED Innovations.

Its first robot, Vesoma 1, is a 170 cm, 75 kg prototype with 26 degrees of freedom aimed at logistics, manufacturing and warehouse work, which humanoid.guide lists at a $50,000 reference price.
Strategist Adam Jonas told Bloomberg that tens of billions of robots could enter daily life within one to two decades, with humanoids reaching the billions by 2050 as just one category among thousands, and argued that more inference will have to run inside the machines themselves. His boldest scenario — AI plus robotics multiplying global GDP eight to ten times — is a long-range projection rather than near-term evidence, humanoid.guide notes.
Unclothed Unitree humanoids walked “The Age of Intelligence” segment at Vogue World in Milan's Galleria, an edition financially backed by Meta Glasses and OpenAI. The room wasn't charmed, according to TechCrunch – Valentino creative director Alessandro Michele's pained expression went viral, and fashion commentators tied the spectacle to job-loss anxiety.

The move lands alongside SoftBank's pending purchase of ABB's robotics business.

The robot “eye-brain-hand” supplier — 3D vision, AI brains and dexterous hands deployed in more than 29,000 units for customers including CATL, BYD and Foxconn — began trading in Hong Kong on 1 September after pricing its IPO at HK$101.70, the top of the range, for a market value of about HK$12.7 billion, according to the company. Reuters reported the offering drew nine cornerstone investors led by Baillie Gifford and could raise up to HK$2.7 billion.
The five biggest humanoid makers by shipments – AgiBot, Unitree, Galbot, UBTECH and Leju – are all Chinese and took 86% of the roughly 22,000 units shipped in the first half, according to Counterpoint figures cited by TechCrunch. FCC curbs and fresh tariffs may wall off the American market, the piece argues, but they don't touch China's cost and scale advantage – the likely outcome is fragmented regional markets, not a clean split.
UBTECH's interim filing shows first-half revenue of RMB1,269.1 million, up 104.2% year on year, with full-size humanoid robot products and services surging 1,445% to RMB590.3 million on 921 units sold. Losses narrowed 23% on a 44.7% gross margin, and the company says it is working toward an annual production target of 10,000 units.

The report notes Unitree's adjusted net profit fell 53% in the first quarter of 2026.
XPeng's robotics business closed a first external round of more than $900 million led by IDG Capital, with Alibaba and Tencent among the strategic backers, at a post-money valuation above $6.3 billion — the largest single private financing in China's embodied AI sector, according to XPeng. The company expects its IRON humanoid to enter mass production by the end of 2026, with deliveries in China and overseas markets starting in 2027.
At Beijing's World Humanoid Robot Games, X-Humanoid's Tiangong Ultra clocked 9.39 seconds to win a 100-metre heat, with Honor's Lightning timed at 9.47 — both under Usain Bolt's 9.58-second human mark, according to the games. humanoid.guide notes these are heat results, not ratified athletics records.

The listing raised about $905 million, and Reuters counts Deep Robotics, Leju, Mech-Mind, X Square and AgiBot among the robot makers lining up to follow.

The traditional IPO is no longer the presumptive route to public markets for robotics companies, two Mintz attorneys argue in The Robot Report — pointing to Agility Robotics' pending $2.5 billion SPAC merger with Churchill Capital and Serve Robotics' reverse merger as examples of the alternatives.
LG signed a memorandum of understanding with NVIDIA and says it will unveil a bipedal humanoid built on Isaac GR00T, Jetson Thor and the Halos safety stack in the first quarter of 2027, drawing actuators, sensors and batteries from LG Electronics, LG Innotek and LG Energy Solution. The pact also covers an NVIDIA-powered AI factory in Cheonan slated to reach 80 MW by the first half of 2028, according to LG.
